Frequently Asked Questions
A few things you may be wondering before getting started.
Starting therapy often comes with practical questions. Below you’ll find information about sessions, fees, insurance, telehealth, and what to expect when beginning therapy with Lines + Perspectives.
-
I currently offer virtual therapy sessions only through a secure telehealth platform. Sessions are available to adults throughout Georgia.
To participate in therapy, you must be physically located in Georgia at the time of each session. In-person appointments are not available at this time.
-
Individual therapy sessions are $175 per 55-minute session.
Payment is due at the time of service. Additional information about payment and practice policies will be provided before your first appointment.
-
A limited number of reduced-fee spaces are available based on financial need and availability. Please feel welcome to ask about current availability during your consultation.
-
At this time, sessions are available on a private-pay basis.
For clients with out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement. Coverage and reimbursement depend on your individual insurance plan.
-
Yes. I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation for prospective clients.
This gives us a chance to briefly talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’re looking for, and whether we might be a good fit to work together. You’re also welcome to ask questions about the process. There’s no commitment to begin therapy after the consultation.
-
After submitting your request through the Get Started page, I'll contact you using your preferred method to coordinate a consultation time.
If we decide to move forward, we'll schedule your first session and I'll send the necessary intake forms.
-
The first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another and better understand what brings you to therapy. We may talk about what has been happening recently, relevant parts of your history, what you hope might be different, and any questions or concerns you have about therapy.
You don’t need to tell your entire story in the first session. We can take time to understand your experiences at a pace that feels manageable.
-
You don't need to know exactly what to talk about, have clearly defined goals, or know which approach might be right for you.
We can begin with what's bringing you to therapy and figure out together where to go from there.
-
Most clients begin with weekly sessions, which allows us to build consistency and momentum in our work. Over time, we can talk together about whether a different frequency makes sense based on your needs and progress.
-
There isn’t one timeline that fits everyone. The length of therapy can depend on what brings you in, your goals, the experiences we’re working with, and how your needs change over time.
We can check in throughout our work about how therapy is going and whether our focus continues to feel useful to you.
-
No. You don't need to choose between EMDR, CBT, parts-informed work, or other approaches before getting started.
We can explore which methods might be useful based on your experiences, needs, and goals.
-
Yes. EMDR can be provided through telehealth when it is clinically appropriate. Before beginning EMDR processing, we’ll spend time understanding what you’re experiencing, preparing for the work, and determining together whether EMDR is an appropriate approach for you.
EMDR is one option we may incorporate into therapy rather than something every client is expected to do.
-
No. I work with adults from a variety of backgrounds.
As a Korean American therapist, I have a particular interest in working with Asian American, bicultural, and second-generation clients. However, you don't need to share my background or have culture be central to what brings you to therapy.
-
I ask for at least 24 hours' notice when canceling or rescheduling an appointment. Late cancellations and missed appointments may be subject to a $100 fee, as outlined in the practice policies provided before beginning therapy.
-
